- Divorce or De Facto Separation
- Division of Property upon Separation
- Drawing up Parenting Plans upon Separation, where the interests of children are paramount
- Neighbourhood Disputes
- Parent – Teen conflict
How we do it
- A prospective client would contact us regarding the dispute.
- It is necessary for both parties involved to make contact.
- An assessment will be scheduled to take place either in person or by phone.
- The assessment is a crucial step in the mediation process, where we’ll assess whether mediation is possible.
- You will be given relevant family mediation information before mediation can go ahead. Both of you have to give consent to the mediation process, indicate that you understand what mediation is about and what you hope to accomplish, and agree to obey the ground rules set by the mediator.
Assessments are being offered free of charge at this time.
- With assessments complete, mediation possible, and a decision to proceed, Vivienne will set up times for mediation.
- Mediation sessions are scheduled to run for two hours at a time, and usually take place with both parties in the same room. However, it is possible to arrange shuttle mediation, where parties can sit separately. This will be decided by the mediator during the assessment.
- Mediation payments will be arranged by Vivienne at the assessment stage and will usually be shared between the parties. This will be discussed during the assessment. It is also possible to mediate about payment of mediation fees.
- All services are confidential and cannot be subpoenaed in Court proceedings.
- We respect your privacy in terms of the relevant Privacy Laws.
We also offer telephonic mediation and mediation online on request. Please enquire about these services if you are interested.
Other Services that we provide
Wills:
It is highly recommended for parties contemplating separation and/or divorce to have their wills redrawn or to have wills drawn up if there are none in place. We are also able to provide this service for either of the parties on request. The cost of this will be dependant on the kind of will requested.
